Enterprise Center II Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Officials from the State of Illinois, City of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago dedicated the Enterprise Center II, a new lab facility in the Illinois Medical District's Chicago Technology Park on Oct. 17. The building will provide additional wet lab space to promote biotechnology innovation and commercialization in Illinois
The 15,000 square foot building at 2252 W. Harrison St. was built as part of the Illinois VentureTECH program at a cost of $3.3 million.
"This facility alleviates the shortage of much needed wet lab space allowing companies to stay within the district and the City of Chicago," said Tom Livingston, executive director of the Illinois Medical District.
The building will open fully occupied with three tenants including Chromatin, Inc. and STAT Analysis Corporation, both of which are graduate's of the Chicago Technology Park's Research Center as well as IllinoisVENTURES, LLC.
The spaces being vacated by Chromatin, Inc. and STAT Analysis will allow for the incubation of new companies from the waiting list thereby continuing the mission of the Chicago Technology Park and keeping the Research Center at 100 percent occupancy.
CUH2A Architects designed the facility and the general contractor is Guse Erickson Co
